Ionia State Recreation Area - Rolling hills, babbling brooks, open meadows,
forested ridges, a lake nestled in the hills and a river winding its way through woods and fields -- that's Ionia Recreation Area. The 4,500 acres of flat to rolling terrain is a
mixture of open field, mature hardwood forest, and pine plantations. Four miles of Grand River floodplain follow the river course on the north border of the park. Dammed waterfowl
flooding's and other wetlands dot the park. Wildflowers abound. Birding is excellent with more than 199 species identified by the Audubon Society. (Page Top)

Shadow Ridge Golf Course - Enjoy a round of golf at the pristine
Shadow Ridge Golf course designed by Donald Ross in 1917. Locals consider this course as the "poor man's Augusta." The mature trees lining the fairways provide a lot of character to
the course. Numerous sand bunkers have been positioned throughout the course, and the terrain is rolling. One small creek comes into play on hole #9, a 462-yard, par 5. There are
additional sets of tees that can be used when playing an eighteen hole round. (Page Top)

Rolling Hills
Golf Course - Rolling hills is a 9 hole course built in 1977 by Warner Bowen. This course has two ponds coming into play on two holes. The fairways vary in undulation, and the
wind blows almost daily, becoming a factor when selecting the proper club. Some of the greens are elevated and slightly sloped. (Page Top)

Horseback Riding - The main attraction at the Double R Ranch is the

I-96 Speedway - Saturday night is your night for great dirt track racing. Gates open at 5 pm, races start at 7:30 pm. Admission varies depending on the type of show. Great fun for the whole family with fast paced action and hot crashes. The 1-96 Speedway runs UMP Late Models, UMP Modified's, Sprint Cars, Hobby Stocks, 4cyl Road Beaters, Harley Davidson Flat Track Motorcycles, World Series Off Road Racing Trucks, Buggies, and Monster Trucks. Mid-Michigan Raceway Park- is located 7 miles North of Muir on Hayes Road. This is one of the best 1/3 mile dirt track you're going find, where the people are friendly and the racing is at its finest, featuring auto racing Friday afternoons.

Take your sports car for the ultimate test run on this road course and see if you have the skill to maneuver through tight turns and fast straight-away's. White's Covered Bridge - The oldest covered bridge still in use in Michigan. Built in 1869. Whites Bridge crosses the Flat River in Keens Township, Ionia County. The floor is 14 feet wide and 116.5 feet long. All of the truss members and dimension lumber are hand hewn and secured with wooden pegs. Fallsburgh Covered Bridge - Completed at a cost of $1500, Fallasburg Bridge stretches 100 feet long and stands 14 feet wide and 12 feet high. The Fallsburg Bridge is one of only three covered bridges open to vehicle traffic in Michigan. Historic Fallsburg Village, past the 1871 covered bridge on beautiful Flat River, was a bustling nineteenth-century village until the railroad era. The one-room schoolhouse and the Misner house museum are open to visitors on summer Sundays; reservations may be made for other days. (Page Top)
